Raids: Night Tide Fortress Walkthrough
Each biome hides a Fortress behind its small bases. This is how you open it and how you should walk in.
The official description is one sentence that most Recruits skip: clear up the small bases to open the Fortress, in each biome. The Fortress is not a separate playlist. It is the gated end of the map you are already standing on.
If the doors are still sealed, you have not finished the satellites. If they are open and you keep wiping, you have a loadout or a stacking problem, not a hidden key item.
Unlock rules
- Fortresses are per biome. Finishing Uptown satellites does not open an airport Fortress.
- Small bases are the lock. Objectives on those bases — document burns, C4 plants, room holds — are what count, not a hidden percentage bar we cannot see in the HUD.
- You can wander the open world without the Fortress. You just cannot finish that biome’s raid loop.
Track your remaining satellites the same way you track Uptown: minimap markers, not vibes. The Uptown clear is the urban version of this rule.
What to bring
A Fortress is a larger small base. That sounds obvious. People still walk in with a Glock and a T-shirt.
- Full armor. Gear first.
- A rifle from the top of the weapon tier list. ARX-160 is a starter, not a Fortress gun.
- Grenades and C4. Doors and stairwells will eat you without them.
- A squad if you can find one. The description is again honest: squads are easier. Squad roles beat three Recruits all peeking the same window.
Vehicles get you to the wall. A Chinook on the roof can be an insert or a firework depending on whether the courtyard has turrets. Read vehicles and park off-angle unless you are sure.
How to enter
Use the same five beats as how to raid, scaled up.
- Park out of turret sight.
- Stealth the outer ring using stealth tactics. You want ammo for the interior, not a highlight reel on the lawn.
- Breach a side door. Front gates are for people who like respawns.
- Clear floor by floor. Do not split a three-stack across three wings unless you like soloing a Fortress in pieces.
- Finish the marked objective. Assume it is a document, a plant, or a hold until the UI says otherwise. Then leave. Trophy hunting inside a live Fortress is how last-man wipes happen.
Missions from the current Missions update can layer extra tasks on the same Fortress. Read the mission text. Do not assume last week’s interact prop is still the win condition.
Solo versus squad
Solo Fortresses are possible if you are patient and armored. They are not the intended first clear. 16-player servers exist so you can group. If the instance is empty, you can still clear satellites until someone shows up. You cannot complain that the Fortress is overtuned if you walked in with launch-week habits and no vest.
VIP 2x Cash and Double XP do not make the Fortress easier. They make the next Fortress faster because you can afford the next rifle. Spend stars and perks after you understand prestige. Do not prestige in the parking lot because a leaderboard said 482.
After the first Fortress
Pick the next biome and repeat satellites. That is the game’s spine. Use leftover Cash on loadout slots if you own Extra Accessories, or on a helicopter if rotations are eating your session. Codes on the codes hub are for the wallet, not for skipping the lock.
The Fortress is a door you earned by doing the small, boring, correct raids. Walk through it the same way.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Why is my Fortress still locked?
A small base in that biome is unfinished. Check markers. Other biomes do not count.
Can I solo a Fortress?
Yes with armor, explosives, and patience. A squad is the intended path and is faster.
Does the Chinook skip the Fortress?
No. It is an insert. You still have to clear and finish the objective.
Is the Fortress a raid boss?
It is a large PvE compound, not a named RPG boss with phases. Play it like a bigger base.
