Armor and Gear in Raids: Night Tide
Plate first, fashion second — how to spend Cash and Robux on things that stop bullets.
If you remember one shopping rule, remember this: headgear and vests before uniforms that only look expensive. Raids: Night Tide will let you dress like a poster. Turrets do not care.
This page is the armor half of the gear hub. Guns are on the weapon tier list.
The three layers
Helmet. Headshots end Recruits. A helmet is not optional flavor. Buy it with the first Cash from TURRETS or from a mission.
Vest / plate. The difference between a turret burst as a warning and a turret burst as a respawn. If you only buy one item after codes, buy this.
Uniform. Camouflage that matches night hangars and Uptown interiors is worth a slot. Beach-sunset drip is for the loading screen. Wear plates over drip when they conflict.
Community stills show camouflage, packs, and NVG mounts on helmets. That kit is doing work. Copy the function, not just the silhouette.
Extra Accessories (175 Robux)
Store text: you unlock four more accessory types to customize your avatar, plus three more loadout slots. That is a fashion-and-slots pass. It is useful when you keep a stealth kit and a Fortress kit at the same time — see the loadout list. It is a poor first purchase. A vest from Cash outranks extra accessory types.
If you already own it, use the extra slots for finished kits, not for three half-empty rifles.
Other passes that feel like gear
- Stealth (199) — playstyle, covered in stealth
- Drone Operator (249) — information gear. Spot turrets before you walk a courtyard
- VIP (199) — 2x Cash, which is how you buy more vests
- Double XP (149) — not gear
- Chinook (199) — not gear
Robux does not replace the Cash shop. Codes still matter. Redeem them on how to redeem.
When to replace a piece
Replace a helmet or vest when you are dying to one burst you used to survive, or when a Missions patch adds a clearly better plate. Do not replace them every time the Shop gets a new camo. Prestige stars should go to perks you will use, not to a hat, unless the hat is actually armor. Prestige explains the difference.
Raid impact
Armor lets you play the five beats in how to raid without resetting on the first camera. It lets stealth fail once without ending the satellite. It is the reason a Fortress is a compound instead of a coin flip.
If you are broke, run a small base, do not sit in Shop. Missions in the Missions update pay. Dead Recruits with empty vests do not.
Night maps make dark uniforms look smarter than they are. You still need the plate. Uptown glass makes you visible in any color. You still need the plate. Biome is not an excuse to skip Shop.
Packs and pouches in official art are part of the silhouette. If Extra Accessories unlocks more of those types, pick the ones that do not clip your gun or your lean. Fashion that hides the C4 prompt is a debuff.
When you prestige, screenshot your armor set. If the reset keeps it, good. If it does not, buy the plate again before you buy the hat again. Prestige is a star conversation. This page is a HP conversation.
A cheap test: if a turret burst still drops you below half from full HP, your plate is not done. Farm one more satellite or redeem the other code. Do not buy a matching backpack until that test passes.
Put the plate on. Then put the rifle on. Then go stack a door.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is a vest required?
Not by the tutorial. It is required by turrets. Buy it with your first 3–8k Cash.
Do uniforms add stats?
Treat uniforms as camouflage and identity. Treat helmets and vests as HP. Buy HP first.
Should I buy Extra Accessories as a Recruit?
No. You need one kit, not four accessory types. Buy it when you actually store multiple loadouts.
Does armor work on mobile?
Yes. The same Shop items apply. The HUD still shows 100 / 100 HP when you are full.
